The Willard Talent Show was established so that Willard School students could
experience the challenges and excitement involved in the performing arts.
Although the talent show can be a fun social event, it is considered a valuable
educational experience and so the goals and expectations for each student are high.
All current Willard students are invited to perform in the Talent Show. Students may perform alone or in groups of any size. All acts must submit one registration form listing all performers in the act, including “extras.”
All acts will be filmed and photographed, unless a performer’s parent or guardian opts out
in writing on the registration form. Each group should appoint one parent to be the
“Act Captain” who will submit the form for that group. The Act Captain is responsible for
providing the completed form for the act and also for providing
a copy of the group’s prerecorded music (if the act is using it), edited to 1 and ½ minutes or
less, on Preview Day.

Willard Students in Fifth Grade can assist backstage and in setting up props and microphones for each act. To encourage a high level of participation,
only non-performers may participate in Stage Crew. The limited number of positions will be filled
by a lottery, drawn from the registration forms that are submitted.
Applicants who are not chosen for the crew can register to perform in an act or may join the refreshment crew.
Registration Form
The Refreshment Crew is responsible for the sale of refreshments during the show's intermission. All fourth and fifth grade Willard students who are not otherwise involved in the Talent Show are invited to be a part of the Refreshment Crew.

The Preview Day is when the talent show committee sees your act for the first time. The
preview is held in the Willard Auditorium and performers are seen in the order in which their
act arrives. No act will be allowed to perform in the talent show if not seen at Preview Day. During Preview Day the Talent Show Director will provide suggestions and advice on how to improve the act. Preview Days also allow the talent show committee to judge the overall scope of the show and to determine how to order the acts to make the show the most entertaining.
The Dress Rehearsal is a full run through of the show - complete with costumes, props, and music. Sounds and lighting cues are established during the rehearsal. The rehearsal is held at the Concord-Carlisle High School. The specific rehearsal time for each act is determined by the
order of the show. Performers will be informed of their rehearsal times a few weeks before the rehearsal. Stage
Crew must attend. It is very important to be on time to the rehearsal.
The Talent Show takes place in the Concord-Carlisle High School auditorium. Show time is 7:00 p.m. at the Concord-Carlisle High School. Performers, stage crew, and refreshment
crew must arrive promptly at 6:40 p.m.
