Willard Book Fair
October 17-18, 2011

During the Willard Book Fair the Willard cafeteria is transformed into an exciting "book store" for the entire community of Willard students, staff, and parents.  The schedule lists when your child's class will visit the Book Fair. We're open from 8:15am through school closing on both days. At the Book Fair, you'll find award-winning cassics, educational favorites, and new releases all of which are tax free to you, and directly beneficial to Willard.

Monday Night Book Fair Social - 6:00 - 8:00pm
The traditional Monday Evening Social is a great time to browse and select books, and to connect with other Willard families.
We will be providing supervised games, puzzles, and stories for children in the library. AND...
Jackie Davies Author of “The Lemonade Wars” will be signing books.
Door Prizes-(1)Amazon  Kindle and Several Popular Book Series. (One Entry per family)

Also at the fair you will find:

  • A Library Donation Table, where you can select a special book and donate it to the Willard School Library in your child's name. The book will go on the Willard Library shelves with a special plate indicating who the book is from... it's very fun for the kids to find "their" books - or those of a sibling or friend -- on the shelves for years to come;
  • An Awards Table, where you'll find Massachusetts Book Award winners, Newbury Winners, and Caldecott winners all gathered together for your convenience;
  • An Authors' Fest Table, featuring the works of the authors visiting your child's classroom this Fall, including:
      • Brain Lies’ Bats at the Beach and Bats at the Library, hardcover picture books
      • Suzy Kline’s Horrible Harry short chapter books in both soft and hard cover
      • Jackie Davies – Lemonade Wars and other great books
      • Mitali Perkins’ Rickshaw Girl and Monsoon Summer in soft cove
    1. A Teacher's Wish Pile, where you can find "wished for" books selected by your child's teachers;
    2. A limited-but-thoughtful selection of current adult titles.

For a small preview of the many books for sale, visit the website:  www.bookfairsbybookends.com/elementaryflyer.html

All in all, we think the Book Fair will be a lot of fun and - as it has been in the past - hugely important to maintaining Willard's excellent collection of relevant and engaging books.  Stop in and see us at the Fair... either with your child's class or whenever it fits into your schedule!  If you prefer to let your child purchase books during his/her class visit, please know that we will have parent volunteers working to help both selecting and purchasing books.  We accept cash and checks - and from the parents! - credit cards as well.

If you have any questions, please contact bookfair@willardptg.org.
