Parent-at-Lunch (PAL) Program

Parent-at-Lunch (PAL) is a chance for you to have a lunch date with your child during their regularly scheduled lunch. This is a special event for children and an opportunity for you to meet their school friends and see them at school but outside of the classroom.

A PAL Day is scheduled at the end of the month for most months of the school year (see the PAL Schedule for this year's dates and class lunch times). All Willard parents are welcome to attend each PAL day, but there are some rules and guidelines that must be followed:

  • Any parent interested in PAL needs to have an approved CORI on file in the office.
  • Due to space constraints, seating at each grade’s lunch is limited to 12 parents. RSVP by date specified each month - reminders will appear in the Willard Weekly in the week(s) prior to the PAL day. Sign-up requests will be taken in the order they are received.
  • Parents will need to bring their own, nut-free lunch. Parents and children will sit at the long tables just outside the lunchroom.
  • Due to parking constraints, we ask that parents leave the parking lot promptly after the conclusion of their child’s lunch session.
  • Parents will NOT be able to accompany their children to the playground for recess.
  • Parents interested in PAL should sign up, by contacting the PAL Coordinator at pal@willardptg.org.

And MOST IMPORTANTLY, parents need to sign-in as visitors upon arrival for PAL. There will be a PTG volunteer outside the office signing in parents against the RSVP list to limit traffic flow into the office.
