Fifth Grade Yearbook

5th Graders: It’s time to create the Class of 2010 Willard Yearbook!
This is YOUR yearbook, a keepsake to celebrate and remember Willard School in your own special way. It’s created for YOU and by YOU and your 5th GRADE CLASSMATES! The Yearbooks are distributed to all 5th graders during the last week of school, usually during the 5th Grade Celebration ceremony. The books will include pages for autographs from your friend and teachers.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • A Personal Page that YOU create. This page is all about YOU.  (See directions below.)
  • A separate baby or toddler photo of you (not included on your personal page). (See directions below.)
  • If you or your family have candid photos of school events that can be included in the yearbook, please email them to yearbook@willardptg.com or include them in the big envelope (Please label them!!!)
  • Everything is due by Tuesday, April 27th

How to Make Your Yearbook Personal Page
All fifth graders should have received an envelope with information about the Fifth Grade celebration and the Yearbook. The packet included a blank piece of paper (and an extra just in case) with which you should create your Personal Page. If you did not receive the packet or made mistakes on both pieces of paper and need more, please contact yearbook@willardptg.org.

Decorate your page with drawings, photos, designs, words, poems, and the like. See the Yearbook Ideas page for samples and suggestions. You can also browse through other Willard yearbooks at the Main Office at Willard if you need even more ideas.

You MUST Follow These Rules on your Personal Page:

  • Include your FIRST and LAST NAME.
  • Create your page vertically, NOT horizontally. Use ONE page. ONE side only.
The yearbook will be bound along the long side of the page and pages read better if they are all formatted vertically.
  • Leave a ½-inch margin on the edges of all four sides.
Images or information within ½-inch of the edge of the page may not be copied completely during page duplication.
  • Use dark or bright colors to decorate the page.
The final page will be a black and white copy. Don’t use light colors or pencils to decorate it; they won’t show up when we copy the pages.
  • DO NOT glue thick items to the page. Photos are fine, because they are flat. Do not glue things like glitter, yarn, or small objects to the page. Keep it flat!
  • Please DO NOT FOLD YOUR PAGE! (We don’t want wrinkles to show up.)
  • Return your page in the envelope provided (along with your baby photo) to the box by the Willard office by Tuesday, April 27th.

Baby/Toddler Photo Instructions

A yearbook tradition at Willard is to include Who's Who pages with photos of the 5th graders when they were babies. It is great fun to try to guess who those cute little faces belong to! So, we need a photo of you as a baby to make those pages:

  • Find a photo of yourself as a baby or toddler. Please make appropriate choices.
  • PLEASE LABEL the photo on the back. Put your FIRST AND LAST NAME on the back of the photo. We suggest you use a soft pencil or a sticky note so that the writing does not harm your photo.
  • NOTE: Your photos can be returned if desired. If you wish to have your photo returned, please include a return envelope with your first and last name on it.
  • If you have a digital photo, please email it to yearbook@willardptg.org. Please include your full name in the email.

Return All Items by Tuesday, April, 27th
Put your personal page and your baby/toddler photo back in the envelope, and put the envelope in the Yearbook Box at the Willard office by Tuesday, April 27th. It is very important to return the pages and photos in a timely manner so that the compiled yearbook can be sent to the printer in time.

Please note that all printed photographs will not be returned unless requested. To request return of items, simply include a return envelope (big enough to hold items to return) that is clearly labeled with your full name. Your photographs will be returned with your yearbook.
